Hey gang -
Thanks for
your time today!
Goal for
next meeting: Meet with an organization (or more than one if you can) as
well as just individuals and get them to sign up on our website. Get
feedback and bring your results to the next meeting. Here is where the
real "COMMUNITY RELATIONS" part starts.
Here is my
first experience:
After the
meeting today, I stopped at Breezy Travel and met with Sheryl Fick (one
of the owners). I got her to go to the website while I was there and she
signed up. She only had a few minutes and her experience was good ( She
said 'that was quick and easy'). It was clear that she was in the middle
of workling but was willing to take a few minutes to meet and go to the
website. She remarked that she whole heartedly believes volunteering is
important and especially in our community. She was glad to see the list
of options and wants to be part of the Jazz Festival as well as the
Chili Cook-Off. Her entire office will be looking to sign up as well.
Sheryl also
stated that she has been communication with Jana Elliott at the chamber
and that their company will become part of the chamber. And that she
likes the chamber's role with this volunteer recruitment web page.
The whole
meeting took less than 5 minutes. One step at a time, we as a group will
make a difference.
Please
share your feedback from the community with our group. You don't have to
wait for the next meeting.
But please look at making a phone call or two now to set up your
meetings with the group or organization that you plan to visit. Or just
stop in as you travel though Evergreen.
Also, Bob
Campbell advised me that he can very easily send an e-mail blast when we
are ready to all the volunteers who have signed up.
I think we should do that in a couple weeks.
Thanks
again and have a great time meeting with your organizations. It really
is cool and fun.

PS: Michael
Stills - Thank you again for the many great tips and your insight!
Please let us meet to discuss partnering with "Friends of Non-Profits" .

For our 3 minute discussion at tomorrow's breakfast, I
will plan to begin by asking our committee members to stand up and come
up front. I will quickly introduce our committee's role with the chamber
and the community and the new direction for 2007, and ask the audience
to note the website link on the flier I will circulate before the
breakfast starts.
Then any of you that would like to offer additional
comments about our group and our new direction, please feel free to
enhance and clarify and inspire the audience.
The we will conclude with letting everyone know to meet
with any of our committee afterwards.
Let me know your thoughts. Otherwise see you tomorrow.

Email 12/15/06 Hey Gang:
Welcome new members:
Michael Cordle, PTF Financial
Gene Slanec, President, NORTH EVERGREEN ACTIVITY TRAILS (NEAT)
Jeff Courtney, UPS Store Aspen Park
Per our meeting last week and the new direction we will
be heading for 2007, please see below:
1. Calendar the next meeting date Thursday January 4 at
3:30 at the Conference Center in the Evergreen Hotel.
2. Come to Quarterly Chamber Meeting on Jan 17 at El
Rancho where we will roll out our new format, direction and our group to
the membership in general. Mel will place us on the agenda. Given the
meeting will have Tucker Hart Adams as a speaker, sign up now to attend.
Will sell out.
3. I am working with Bob Campbell (Incognito Solutions)
to start a a web page link for our group.
4. I am meeting with Casey Mahon next week on Tuesday at
9:00 at my new office (Mountain Resource Center Building, behind old
Safeway in Conifer, Suite no. 5). Come if you like. We will be going
over the 'overall structure' for next year and Casey will present at the
next meeting on Jan.4.
5. THIS WHAT I NEED YOU GUYS TO DO FOR THE NEXT TWO
WEEKS (beside enjoy the holidays):
SEND ME YOU LIST OF POTENTIAL EVENT VOLUNTEERS TO "LOAD"
into our database:
Recall we want to become the 'go to' group on behalf of
the Evergreen Chamber for channeling potential volunteers, community
members etc... to partner with other groups and organizations for
Evergreen Community Events.
Recall we all thought we may have a list of folks that
we can start to load into our database. Send me that info. And if you
can.....send me your list in an Excel Spreadsheet this way ( NOTE: you
may not have all the information now, but do send me what you have.
This effort will continue into January, but please set
up a spreadsheet and begin to collect and send me names if you can now.
Bob Campbell can then load the volunteer information very quickly into
our new registration web page (if it is in a spreadsheet). BUT if
you cannot do a spreadsheet, at least send me the names and contact
information you have to be loaded. Again, our goal is to have a database
in the works with a web page identifying our group and loaded with
information that we can supply by Jan 17.
Let me know if any questions or comments. This effort
will be more up-front labor intensive, but will then be an automated
process with a self registration page.
6. Send me a suggested list of "COMMUNITY EVENTS" that
you would like to see our group participate in for 2007.
7. Send me a list of suggested "SPEAKERS" for 2007
Have a great Holiday!
PS- Regards to the Skate the Lake, I received an e-mail
from Leslie Caimi (event planner) since I guess Brock contacted her.
Leslie's e-mail stated she was getting to understand the event and is
eager to work with the chamber. I responded with what the this group has
done in the past (tent and cookies etc), but that we would like to hear
from her about how we may help and to let me know via e-mail (outline
when where etc...) so I can send to the group as we are not physically
meeting again before the event.
I will keep you posted. Thanks
again. Bob P.
